The Mountain Goat - Ian Munsick

Wyoming native Ian Munsick has carved out a distinctive place in modern country music by bringing the rugged spirit of the Rocky Mountain West into a genre increasingly dominated by Southern influences. Described by The Tennessean as 'Western music royalty' and praised by The New Yorker for putting 'the Western back in country,' Munsick has built a career around authenticity, combining traditional Western storytelling with an electrifying roots-pop edge. 

With his fourth album, The Mountain Goat, Munsick takes that identity even further. The 15-track collection was produced by Munsick alongside Jeremy Spillman and Mike Robinson, with Munsick taking an unusually hands-on role in the music itself.

The singer-songwriter plays nine instruments across the record: including acoustic and electric guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, piano, bouzouki and, somewhat wonderfully, kazoo, while also contributing background vocals and programming. The result promises a more organic, acoustic-rooted sound that feels deeply connected to the landscape that shaped him, as Munsick continues his mission to merge genuine Western tradition with contemporary country production. ~ Entertainment-Focus.com
