Ty Wilson is an alt-country troubadour who seamlessly blends traditional and modern elements, with a soulful voice and an authentic storytelling style to create powerful and resonant music. The Peterborough, Ontario native's (northeast of Toronto) self-coined "Red Dirt North" style mixes a fusion of modern country with southern rock flavor and is influenced by the likes of Chris Stapleton, Steve Earle and Eric Church.
Following the success of Chasin' Headlights, the first single from his 100% crowdfunded record Northern Heart, Southern Soul, Wilson's next hit is the outlaw country anthem Born To Lose. A brooding look at the difficulty of trying to move ahead, in a world that is set on keeping you poor, tired and angry.
To make Northern Heart, Southern Soul, Wilson enlisted the help of Nashville based producer/drummer, Jay Tooke (The Steel Woods, Randy Houser, Wyatt Flores), to consult and perform on the album, with Texas country heavyweights Edgewater Music Group producing and engineering the eight - song LP.
"My music has been very well received south of the border. I have a love for southern influenced music, so when the opportunity to record with this team in Texas happened, I had to take it," states Wilson.
