Whiskey or God
While it's true that there's really nothing Dale Watson has done that I don't like, this is still a pretty darned great album. Culled from old songs and live favorites Dale's done over the years, previously unreleased tracks and fan favorites, Whiskey or God still manages to come together as sharp and crisp as any of Watson's previous albums, and is, as always, one hundred percent pure, uncompromising country.
Hank Williams III called Dale Watson 'the Savior of Country Music.' I still remember I bought one of CDs on the recommendation of a friend and I was hooked on him within the first bar of the first track on that disc.
He's a powerhouse bundle of talent, a great country music singer, terrific guitar picker, and an honest-to-goodness real guy, a true gentleman. Have a little fun, a little tequila, and listen to a little Dale. ~ About.com
