Waiting For The Sunset
Unashamed rockers with a country heart, Shurman hail from California and have been steadily building up a head of steam following the release of their debut CD Jubilee in 2005, and some hard touring across the US.
2008 has seen the band take their first tentative steps into Europe opening for Kevin Montgomery, and the release of their sophomore outing, Waiting For The Sunset.
Self-released, but sporting masterful and powerful production at the hands of Danny White at 16 Ton Studios in Nashville and featuring the talents of Ken Coomer and steelmaster Al Perkins, the raw power of Shurman never threatens to overwhelm the observational lyrics of vocalist and songwriter Aaron Beavers.
The trademark guitar licks are still in evidence with additional slide dexterity in the form of Nelson Blanton, and the rhythm section of Keith Hanna and Damon Allen (since departed the band) ensure the rock keeps rolling, and never falls into any 'raawk' cliches.
Highly recommended red-dirt rock of the highest order.
