Wail & Ride
2005 saw the release of Grayson Capps' debut album If You Knew My Mind, and in 2006 he has released Wail and Ride, another Southern blues/rock drenched collection of songs with yet more interesting characters and situations to explore.
A soneone who experienced the horror of Hurrican Katrina at first hand, it is little wonder that Grayson Capps was moved to write about it. His song New Orleans Waltz hits home hard about the aftermath and grappling with the emotion of the situation.
As with If You knew My Mind, you can almost feel the stickiness of the Mississippi Delta and the blues seeping out of every pore on Wail & Ride, and his slide work in particular echoes the great bluesmen that have eminated from that part of the world. Tommy MacLuckie (electric guitar); Charlie Judge (organ) and an ensemble of great musicians provide the aural backdrop.
