Teddy Thompson - Up Front & Down Low

Teddy Thompson's self-produced 2007 release Up Front & Down Low is a collection of well known country classics together with a few lesser-known highlights, alongside a single Thompson original, Down Low.

The son of English folk champions Richard and Linda Thompson, Teddy's move is a brave one given the gravity of the material - George Jones, Merle Haggard and Ernest Tubb amongst others - but he makes the cuts his own, and elicits the help of English arranger Robert Kirby, renowned for his groundbreaking work with Nick Drake, for some dramatic string arrangements.
