Under The Influence Of Buck
The Derailers came along in the 90's with a hybrid of Bakersfield country and 60's rock and roll with the end results being astonishing. Big guitars and great songs made them stand out to both country and rock fans.
The Derailers owe as as much to Buck Owens as Asleep at the Wheel do to Bob Wills, and Under The Influence of Buck will delight their fans that have become accustomed to their more eclectic outings since the departure of Tony Villanueva and the ascension of co-founder Brian Hofeldt as the band's sole frontman.
The band are from a younger generation and are more faithful in spirit than concerned with providing a note-for-note recreation of the Buck Owens sound. There's as much of a twang in Hofeldt's phrasing as there is in the guitars supporting him.
