Turn The Water On Boy
Turn the Water on Boy is the latest landmark in the Coal Porters (and former Long Ryders) ringleader Sid Griffin's musical journey, and the world's first ever 'Alt-Bluegrass' release.
Featuring ex-Byrd Chris Hillman on mandolin, the album features stunning versions of both the late Gene Clark's Silver Raven as well as a kick-ass cover of Sid's old band The Long Ryders' Final Wild Son.
The Coal Porters were described by one USA bluegrass festival attendee back in 2004 as 'a cross between the Clash and Bill Monroe'. The band loved that description, as it encapsulated how dedicated they were to updating tradition and how dedicated they are to playing from the heart.
