True Country
Rance Norton chose material for his 2008 debut album True Country taken from the range of material that he has been performing for the last few years at concerts and various other venues throughout Texas.
He sets the country tone with the Faron Young classic Wine Me Up. Norton has long been a fan of Gene Watson and decided to include both Got No Reason Now for Going Home and Should I Come Home (Or Should I Go Crazy) from the Watson catalog. Ray Price is honored with the recording of three of his standards.
Texas Country Music Legend Johnny Bush added his vocals with Norton to the Jim Ed Brown hit Pop A Top while producer Justin Trevino recorded Big Blue Diamonds with Norton.
True Country features some of the finest musicians in the Texas music scene including Jake Hooker on upright bass, Ron Huckabee on piano, Jim Loessberg on drums and Justin Trevino on lead and rhythm guitar.
