Trick Pony
If you know anyone who has witnessed the Trick Pony live experience, three words will be heard, hot ...hot ... hot! Drawing heavily from the outlaw country and country rock sound of the 70’s, Trick Pony was formed in 1996 with core members Keith Burns on guitar and bassist Ira Dean, soon to be joined by singer and guitarist Heidi Newfield.
They landed a deal with Warner Brothers in 2000 and the following year Trick Pony, their self-titled debut hit the shops, certified gold within a year of its release. A fine collection of mostly original classic honky tonk and Southern influenced country rock, red-hot foot stompin' music.
2002 saw their second album On A mission released, gaining an even larger fan base and in 2005 R.I.D.E. their last and in my humble opinion, their best album to date was released. Best described as rough, rowdy, bar room country rock, mostly original and personally I love it. ~ James Soars
