Tom Wurth
It is pleasing to see the trend of new country artists blending a more traditional sound with the contemporary leanings of recent times. Dierks Bentley is one such example, and Tom Wurth on his self-titled debut follows the lead by adding classic country elements to his pop cultured tunes.
A Rootsy, barndance opening kicks things off, before Tom Wurth's album takes on various styles that will please hard-core country fans, but at the same time Tom Wurth has one eye on the hit formula in the songs chosen. The last track sees Wurth's baritone taking on Hank's I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, and turns out be a genuine winner.
