Melissa McClelland - Thumbelina's One Night Stand

Melissa McClelland is a Toronto based singer-songwriter, and she has released her sophomore album Thumbelina's One Night Stand as the follow-up to her popular and critically acclaimed debut Stranded In Suburbia.

Slotting Melissa McClelland into music's standard pigeon-holes is difficult, as her music moves on Thumbelina's One Night Stand from the dreamy pop to heartbreaking country to Neil Young-ish guitar led rock. Thumbelina's One Night Stand is described in McClelland's publicity material as a collection of dark fables for the soul, and McClellan's lyrics are indeed deeper and more far-reaching than other folk-pop contemporaries.

Sarah McLachlan and Blue Rodeo's Greg Keelor pop in to add weight to the proceedings, and the album includes two bonus tracks.
