The Storm
The Storm is Travis Tritt's 2007 album release. Teaming up with producer Randy Jackson (bass player with artists as diverse as Aretha Franklin and Journey) The Storm is a radio friendly powerhouse collection of songs that emphasise the soul side of Travis Tritt's singing.
Tritt has sold over 25 million albums, won two Grammy awards and three Country Music Awards, but a move towards blue-eyed soul highlights the deep links between country and R&B. 'Growing up just outside Atlanta, to the north of us you've got the Grand Ol' Opry in Nashville,' Tritt explains. 'A little bit South you've got Macon, Georgia - home of the Allman Brothers, the Marshall Tucker Band and Capricorn Records. And off to west you've got Delta blues. I loved all of that music.'
Songwriting credits on the album include Rob Thomas, Richard Marx and Diane Warren, and look out for High Time for Getting Down, which features Charlie Daniels blazing on fiddle and celebrates a raucous night on the town.
