Following the demise of Nickel Creek, mandolin player Chris Thile put together the Punch Brothers; and all-star ensemble of guitarist Chris Eldridge (Infamous Stringdusters); bassist Greg Garrison; banjo player Noam Pikelny and violinist Gabe Witcher.
The Punch Brothers' debut album Punch was released in 2008 and featured an expansive 40 minute suite of bluegrass music that sets out the stall for this virtuoso project.
