The Outlaw
Tompall Glaser was probably the least well known of the four Country Music Outlaws packaged in the 1976 album Wanted! The Outlaws which featured Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter, and Tompall himself.
In 1973 Glaser began recording as a solo artist and his album, Charlie, stands as one of the finest of the Outlaw genre. Amid a clutch of hit singles in the seventies Glaser had a major falling out with Waylon Jennings, a close friend and business partner and found Glaser's Streets of Baltimore covered by Gram Parsons on his first solo album, GP.
The Outlaw revists 21 tracks recorded for ABC including both the albums recorded for them plus an unissued master, Storms Never Last.
