The Notorious Cherry Bombs

What’s the chances of a group containing Vince Gill and Rodney Crowell in the line up, not that good you might think, but The Notorious Cherry Bombs are the band and yes Gill and Crowell are definitely band members.

The bands roots go way back to 1974 when Emmylou Harris assembled the first incarnation of her 'Hot Band' and when, in 1980 Rodney Crowell left to record his second solo album, he wanted the same spirit and camaraderie that he had experienced with his previous band mates. This is how The Notorious Cherry Bombs came about, backing Crowell on his tours and his early solo releases.

Shoot forward to 2003 and at the ASCAP Awards banquet in Nashville, The Notorious Cherry Bombs reunited for the first time in over twenty years, and they went down a storm. This of course spurred the band on to record their self-titled debut album that was to receive worldwide acclaim and rave reviews from the media. ~ James Soars
