The Little Darlin' Sessions
Dale Watson cut a bunch of songs songs for an album for the famous Little Darlin' label, a label that was the home of Johnny Paycheck. Many of the songs are covers of Paycheck classics, with The founder of the label Aubrey Mayhew coming out of retirement in August 2005 to produce the album.
The songs were recorded as one-take 'live in the studio' efforts with a band including Lloyd Green and 'Pig' Robbins amongst others
The album was never finished, but in 2007 the tracks have been put together by Koch Records and released as The Little Darlin' Sessions. The release does not have the support of Watson or Lloyd Green as they do not like the finished result. Dale Watson's legion of fans may beg to differ .....
