Lori McKenna - The Kitchen Tapes

Lori Mckenna's Kitchen Tapes is exactly as it says in the title, recorded on a minidisc recorder in her kitchen at home in Massachusetts.

Originally Lori McKenna didn't plan on recording these simple one-takes other than as a way of getting a record of a head full of new songs. But she decided the fresh, simple and unadorned sound was what she wanted people to hear.  Just her and her guitar, in her kitchen with the phone ringing, the TV and her kids in the background.

The Kitchen Tapes is like having your very own 'house-concert' style album, warts and all but any 'imperfections' adds to the atmosphere of this album of songs which everyone can relate to, about love and life.
