The Great Lost Performance
On July 27, 1990, Johnny Cash took his revue to The Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and performed a truly unique and wonderful concert, captured on multi-tracks that lay dormant until mixed and edited in 2007 for this near hour-long CD.
There are terrific performances of his greatest hits, with a wonderfully upbeat Cash and wife June Carter Cash telling stories and providing introductions to the music. June contributes to a boisterous duet of Jackson with Johnny, and local songstress Lucy Clark duets on the first performance anywhere at the time, of Cash's What Is Man?
The album is topped out with Cash performing the only recorded version anywhere of the classic gospel song Wonderful Time Up There.
The Great Lost Performance has been found.
