The Fresh Up Club
The Fresh Up Club is the debut album from Austin's Elizabeth McQueen and the Firebrands.
McQueen's voice has been compared to Patsy Cline and Dinah Washington, and her music is a fascinating mix of honky-tonk and British pub-rock.
The Fresh Up Club is augumented by the musicianship of the Firebrands. Guitarists Andrew Nafziger (Bruce Robison) and Chris Miller (Marcia Ball, Hollisters) along with bassist Lindsay Greene and drummer Brian Smith. Other musos involved with the Firebrands are Casper Rawls abd the renowned Jim Murphy on steel, most famously associated with Asleep at the Wheel and Johnny Paycheck.
