The Coal Porters
An acoustic act with attitude the Coal Porters are the UK's most entertaining acoustic bluegrass act, one firmly established on both the British and European touring circuits.
Formed seventeen years ago in Los Angeles the Coal Porters were originally an electric act centred around Sid Griffin, the ex-Long Ryder who wrote their hit single Looking For Lewis And Clark.
The Coal Porters released The Chris Hillman Tribute Concerts in 2001, an all-acoustic celebration of Byrds, Flying Burrito Bros, Dylan and Gram Parsons. Rave reviews came in and they all agreed: bluegrass was being performed via a fresh approach.
