The Blue Album
Elizabeth Cook burst onto the country music scene in 2002 with her major label debut Hey Y'All. Elizabeth's pure country gave rise to comparisons with Loretta and Dolly and she seemed poised for a major breakthrough.
That breakthrough never happened, but Elizabeth Cook has stood by her roots and convictions and gone on to record a clutch of excellent independently-released albums. The Blue Album (also known simply as Elizabeth Cook) was self-released in 2000, and some of the tracks ultimately reappeared on the Hey Y'All collection.
Elizabeth herself feels that the original versions were superior to the heavily-produced versions on the MCA album, and certainly tracks like Mama You Wanted To be A Singer Too and Blue Shades confirm her theory.
