The Bees aka A Band Of Bees

The Bees are an indie rock band from the Isle of Wight in the UK. Thanks to a band of the same name existing in the USA, their releases in the US are under the name A Band Of Bees.

The Bees' style of music is influenced by a colourful range of sixties rock, country, reggae and jazz. Their debut 2002 Mercury Prize-nominated Sunshine Hit Me was notable amongst other things for being recorded in frontman Paul Butler's garden shed.

The Bees released a 2004 major label follow-up Free the Bees, and in 2007 their release is Octopus. Songs from the band can be frequently heard as soundtracks to glossy UK TV commercials.
