That's Why I Sing This Way
Daryle Singletary enjoyed a quick rise to top of the Country Music charts with his early outings, but on his 2002 release That's Why I Sing This Way, he tips his hat to those that inspired him musically, rather than compete with his contemporaries on a new set of songs.
Other than the title track which is itself a hint towards his idol George Jones, he calls on George himself, Merle Haggard, and Johnny Paycheck join him on various songs from the past
Throw in harmony vocals from Rhonda Vincent and Dwight Yoakam's Bakersfield sound on Love's Gonna Live Here Again and you have the perfect ingredients for a fine tribute album.
