Nick-named The Honky Tonk Kid; Aaron Watson is one of the hottest properties on the traditional country music circuit at the moment. Born in Amarillo, Texas he cut his teeth travelling thousands of miles across the Southwest playing in hundreds of honky-tonks.

Shut Up And Dance, his 2003 release contains fourteen all original tracks of no nonsense Texas honky tonk and swing. From the opening track I Don't Want You To Go, we get a superb selection of songs delivered in the rich baritone of Aaron Watson.

Favourite track for me is Something With A Swing To It, which does exactly what it says on the can, Western Swing at its best, very reminiscent of Bob Wills or Asleep At The Wheel.
