Room To Grow
Adrienne Young with her occasional band Little Sadie has produced two of the best, yet underestimated, bluegrass records of recent times, based around her skilful banjo playing.
On Room To Grow (2007) Adrienne has stepped out, and on her self-produced album she has opted for a clearer direction, and has produced a folky-pop sound that marks a major step forward. This is a more mature record, with some of the themes obviously close to Adrienne's heart.
Nature and the environment play a big part in the what makes Young tick, with River and a Dirt Road is an example. Plus, a portion of the album proceeds are being donated towards the 'Save a Seed' Fund.
The overall feel is of a more mainstream approach, with some rock-folk-pop overtones, but Room To Grow is still an admirable down-home album of fine music.
