Albert Lee - Road Runner

Guitarist extraordinaire Albert Lee pulls a surprise out of his hat for his latest outing Road Runner. Not only does he give us oodles of his slick, fluid electric guitar but he throws piano, as well. Things kick off great with a fun arrangement of the old Junior Walker hit Road Runner. Jimmy Webb's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and Lee's instrumental Payola Blues might be the best of the batch next to the title cut.

Payola is the Albert Lee I know and love. Plenty of killer guitar and that's that. Through all of this, Lee enlists musical compadres such as Buddy Emmons on steel and Bob Glaub on bass and guest vocalists Jon Randall and Buddy Miller. ~ Plan 9 Music
