Ricky Skaggs

A dedicated and renowned bluegrass musician, Ricky Skaggs joined Ralph Stanley's band, the Clinch Mountain Boys in 1970.

Subsequently Skaggs was a member of Emmylou Harris' Hot Band and has gone on to be an ever-present in the bluegrass movement, and a revered icon of a performer.

Many people say Skaggs rescued country music from the doldrums it had found itself in the 1970s and he was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry in 1982.
