Richard Thompson

Richard Thompson is best known as a member of sixties British folk-rock outfit Fairport Convention, but has since gone one to win many critical plaudits for his exceptional improvisational guitar work.

An outspoken and prolific songwriter, Thompson has never enjoyed mass commercial success, but has a reputation as a fine and compelling live performer.

In August 2003, Rolling Stone magazine listed Richard Thompson at number 19 on its list of The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
