Robbie Fulks is an outstanding alt.country artist, known primarily as an creative force of entertainment, guaranteed never to perform the same show in the same way twice, and capable of producing albums of very differing styles.

His first collection of Greatest Hits comes in the form of two live CDs on Revenge! - a band-orientated set, and an acoustic set. In keeping with Fulks' moral highground about the lack of justification for releasing live albums and/or greatest hits collections, there are plenty of new original songs and unreleased covers included.

As a record of Fulks' live shows this set plays down the banter and jokes and concentrates more on the music. Fans will be dismayed or pleased about that, depending on what they enjoy about his live performances. This is certainly a great testament to the all-round abilities of Fulks, and does showcase his humour and exemplary guitar playing.
