R.I.D.E.
What does R.I.D.E. stand for; well it stands for Rebellious Individuals Delivering Entertainment. That just about sums up Trick Pony, who always seem to deliver any song with a mischievous nudge and a wink, whatever the content of the song. That is their appeal; this is good time country rock, through and through.
Trick Pony do redneck country rock better than anyone, shown perfectly in the tongue in cheek opener Ain’t Wastin’ Good Whisky On You. The song is delivered by Heidi Newfield in a sexy, throaty growl that could make a grown man cry, backed up by Keith Burns and Ira Dean’s Southern swagger and you have a formidable combination of redneck, hillbilly rock.
This latest release from Trick Pony really is the soundtrack to a good weekend, fourteen tracks guaranteed to deliver a damn good time. ~ James Soars
