Prodigal Son
Michael Powers is a Blues veteran, and has won acclaim in the UK from the likes of Paul Jones at the BBC and Mojo Magazine. His 2004 debut was Onyx Root and the follow-up Prodigal Son is another impressive collection showcasing his talents as guitarist and writer.
Michael Powers pulls inspiration from all areas, mixing originals like the elegant title track with covers of old-timers like Jimmy Reed. Powerful rock, a hint of funk and a trip into Jug Band territory and covers of Dylan and Arthur Lee makes for an eclectic but enjoyable blues outing.
