Poison Love
Buddy Miller is not only a musician's musician, having loaned his considerable talents to a number of major projects down the years, not least his incarnation as guitarist for Emmylou Harris' Spyboy, but he posesses one of the finest country voices around.
On Poison Love, Buddy Miller calls on the services of long-time cohort Jim Lauderdale, and the exquiisite vocals of his wife Julie Miller. The rhythm section of Spyboy chime in, and as with his other albums Miller explores a number of musical avenues, including an injection of country soul into a reading of Otis Redding's That's How Strong My Love Is.
However, it is the simplicty of Buddy Miller's approach to writing country songs and his authentic country vocals that are the staples on which Poison Love are built. Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris and Sam Bush are amongst the other luminaries helping out Buddy on Poison Love.
