Po' Girl

Po' Girl are a Canadian acoustic band with a mix of styles ranging from jazz, folk and country, with more than a little punk attitude thrown in.

The band consists of Allison Russell (vocals), Trish Klein (guitar/vocals), Awna Teixeira (multi-instrumental) and Diona Davies (violin). they released their self-titled debut album in 2003, and have been compared to Tracy Chapman, Ani DiFranco, Natalie Merchant, and Norah Jones.

Klein is also a founding member of the Be Good Tanyas and Russell is a founding member of the duo Salt (later renamed 'Sofia').
