Mike Lounibos - Planet California

I have been acquainted with the work of Mike Lounibos for a couple of years or so and have always been impressed but not as impressed as I am with his latest album, the superb Planet California.

Mike has a great country voice, easily the equal of many who are touted as superstars these days, and he is one of the most innovative writers on could wish to meet. On this latest album two songs have really endeared themselves to me; Ring In Time, which follows the life of a little gold band experiencing the joys and sorrows, and Who Lived Here, the story of a couple buying a house and letting their imaginations take flight on the previous occupants.

Brilliant concepts beautifully performed. The programme offers a dozen varied songs, all skillfully crafted with plenty for the dedicated listener and for the dancer too in Dance Little Jo-Jo, Planet California, No Brainer and Too Long, Too Hard, For Too Little Money. ~ Pete Smith, Advertiser (UK)
