Patty Griffin

Patty Griffin is a unique and special talent. Her emotive and soaring vocals and the brilliant, image-laden songwriting have brought her to the cusp of a major breakthrough, and her 2007 release Children Running Through should see Patty Griffin break into the mainstream.

Despite early label problems, (her first album ending up unreleased, the mainly acoustic demos appearing subsequently on Living With Ghosts) Dave Matthews' label went on to release 1,000 Kisses which was Grammy nominated.

1000 Kisses introduced the textured layers of sound as a backdrop to Griffin's astonishing vocal range, which have become synonymous with her later works.

Patty Griffin's songs have been recorded by a number of artists including as Linda Ronstadt, the Dixie Chicks, Bette Midler, Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Jessica Simpson, Martina McBride, Emmylou Harris, Joan Osborne and Solomon Burke.
