There may be harder working musicians in the USA, but I have yet to meet them. Dallas Moore and his band The Snatch Wranglers, seem to always be operating at 125% full-tilt-boogie-on the front burner. The band has created a strong following in their home state of Ohio, which has in turn bled out into the entire country and around the globe. Its that damned energy. Dallas just loves entertaining, and it makes us all get into the groove. It doesnt hurt that he carries a posse of ultra-talented players with him either.
One Night in Kentucky is good. I think the filming could have been better, but hey, dont let that stop you from ordering! See, the performances are so strong that even without million-dollar videography, it still cuts like a knife.
Recorded live at The Expo in Louisville, its a rough and rowdy redneck rock and roll party captured on film. From the fun opener, Great Big Woman, on through excellent tunes like Down in Dixie, Son of Carolina, and Mama Was a God Fearing Woman, Dallas and the band stand and deliver time and time again. There are some awesome cover tunes as well, including Moores take on Billy Joe Shavers Hottest Thing in Town, Hank Williams, Jrs A Country Boy Can Survive, and Steve Earles Copperhead Road.
The concert is augmented with interview footage of Dallas, and theres an off-stage acoustic bonustrack As Good as it Gets.
One Night in Kentucky is like a hot chick ridin a Harley and pullin a bass boat full of Skynyrd CDs- it dont get no better than that! - Michael Buffalo Smith Gritz.net
