On My Way To See You
The Resentments' 2007 release On My Way To See You is a perfect introduction to a band with a superb musical pedigree, band members having performed and recorded with artistes as diverse as Dr John and Kelly Willis, as well as producing their own solo material.
Basically this album is a mix of bar room honky tonk and country rock with the odd ballad thrown in for good measure. Tracks such as Coming Down is one such slow country ballad, with great harmonies and some lovely guitar work, next track Jesse Taylor is the complete opposite, a great bar room rocker, you can almost here the glasses clinking.
On My Way To See You contains thirteen superb tracks, very difficult to choose a favourite, but Just A Fever gets my vote, country rock with a touch of rockabilly, excellent. The Resentments are a great band and On My Way To See You is a great album, best taken with something strong in a bottle. ~ James Soars
