It can be very hard to better a debut, but Trick Pony has succeeded where others have failed. On A Mission is a great album, building on the success of their first release. The band have matured, but have lost none of their raw energy, always sounding as if playing live, leaving just the right amount of rough edges on the vocals and guitars turned up to max.

Most of the twelve tracks are original compositions by the band, from the title track On A Mission a guitar led country rocker, to Love Is A Ball swinging western honky tonk at it's best, this is an album to treasure. Willie Nelson also makes an appearance on a cover of his Whiskey River hit, sounding laid back and informal as only Willie can.
