Darrell McCall - Old Memories and Wine

Fans of dance hall country will just love Old Memories And Wine by Darrell McCall. His first full album in nearly ten years, it really is a family affair, daughter Guyanne wrote the title track, son Cody did all the harmony vocals and Mona McCall, Darrell’s wife contributed the fantastic May Time My Lady.

Produced by the great Justin Trevino who has done a marvellous job of capturing the wondrous vocal delivery of Darrel McCall on classic country songs such as the Faron Young composition I Miss You Already and Divorce Me C.O.D by Merle Travis. They all get the dance hall treatment, indeed Darrell McCall still loves to play the dance halls whenever he can, just loving the relaxed, but up tempo atmosphere.

Guest musicians on the album include country music royalty Bobby Flores on fiddle, Levi Mullen on guitar and Dickie Overby on pedal steel. Old Memories And Wine by Darrell McCall is one of my personal favourites and comes highly recommended. ~ James Soars
