Now It's Time
Paula Frazer spent her early career hanging out in San Francisco and the gentle folkie feel of her 2007 release Now It's Time is reminiscent of the sixties heyday. Think Nanci Griffith or even early Neil Young as a point of reference for Paula Frazer and Tarnation.
Frazer lives the spirit of folk, but with a modern alt.country angle, despite the lack of steel guitars (at least until near the end of the album). Paula has a southern twang which suits the acoustic style with low key percussion. There is a lonesome sound about Now It's Time that could echo the Byrds, and the rich harmonies emphasise the sixties hippie undercurrent.
