Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has existed in various forms since 1966. With many variations in personnel over the years, the constant members have been singer-guitarist Jeff Hanna and drummer Jimmy Fadden.

Multi-instrumentalist John McEuen was with the band from 1966 to 1986 and returned in 2001.

A cover of Jerry Jeff Walker's Mr Bojangles was one of their best known hits, but it was probably their landmark album Will The Circle Be Unbroken that put them on the map and helped bridge the gap between rock and country with a legacy that is still felt today.
