James Taylor and his memorable, gentle acoustic songs have been in the consciousness of the public since the late sixties. A native of North Carolina, Taylor signed to the Beatles' Apple label in London in 1968, but it wasn't until the early seventies when he found success at the time of a boom in singer-songwriters. You've Got A Friend was a cover of a Carole King song that saw him receive a Grammy.
February 6 2006, saw James Taylor honoured by the MusiCares Foundation, and his nomination as their Person Of The Year was celebrated with a tribute concert during Grammy Week in Los Angeles. A host of major artists were on hand to perform his songs, and this 94 minute DVD captures the event.
