Lyle Lovett

Summing up the enigmatic Lyle Lovett in a few sentences is difficult in the extreme. Classed as a country singer, since launching his debut album in the middle eighties his music has regularly explored folk, swing, jazz and gospel.

The sophisticated dress sense and unique chiseled features make Lyle Lovett the most unlikely of Texan artists, but he is true to his roots, and despite his alternative take on life with his quirky songwriting Lovett is troubadour songwriter and performer of the highest calibre.

As well as his musical exploits, Lyle Lovett can be spotted in a number of movies, and he was of course famously married to Julie Roberts (the actress, not the singer!) for a brief couple of years in the early nineties.
