Luan Parle
Luan Parle grew up in Ireland with an early passion for The Judds, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood as well as a whole host of more contemporary artists including Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones.
A Nashville scout, attracted by the profile that the thirteen year old Luan had been building up, offered her the opportunity to head off to the U.S. with a full recording contract, an opportunity that was declined by her parents who felt that she was too young to make such a move.
Throughout her teens Luan led a covers band while writing and performing a growing catalogue of self written material, and ultimately became a very astute businesswoman, setting up her own company as the good early advice from her parents paid off.
Luan hooked up with UK producer Stephen Lironi – Altered Images, Lloyd Cole etc. - to create her breakthough full debut album Free.
Released in early 2007 to great critical acclaim, the album release and was swiftly followed by the 2007 Meteor Award for 'Best Irish Female Artist' and the album was short listed to the final three (with Snow Patrol & Duke Special) at Northern Irelands 'Big Buzz' Entertainment Industry Awards.
