Kieran Kane and Kevin Welch - Lost John Dean

Kieran Kane and Kevin Welch have developed individual reputations as fine Nashville singer-songwriters, but together with multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplin they have merged their folk and country expertise to produce a unique, bluesy, rootsy sound.

Lost John Dean is the latest release from Kieran Kane, Kevin Welch and Fats Kaplin, following the earlier release on their own Dead Reckoning label You Can't Save Everybody. Delta Blues, mountain music and the occasional middle-eastern vibe appear out of nowhere, lodged in amongst the solid folksy backdrop. Possibly a little lighter and looser than their last outing, Kane Welch & Kaplin produce some poignant singer-songwriter moments on Lost John Dean, but the overall feel is of an old-time stomp with some back porch guitars, and acoustic instruments and everyone having a real good time.
