Long Way From Tupelo
Paul Thorn has followed a particularly winding and bumpy career. His sound is that of a typical heartland rocker, although like John Hiatt, he can produce some unexpected quirks and surprises along the way.
The biggest surprise on his 2008 release A Long Way from Tupelo, is that is is very much a straightforward, down the line rock album in the style of Bob Seger of John Mellencamp.
The quirkiness on Long Way From Tupelo is kept to a minimum, which may or may not appeal to Thorn's cult following, but should make for an opportunity to bring on board some new fans that have yet to fall under the spell of the Paul Thorn experience.
