Leave The Light On
Jeff Bates is very much his own man, but he has been compared to the late, great Conway Twitty with his great vocal range and distinctive voice. Bates' sophomore album Leave The Light On continues the sexy balladeering of his debut album, but this is not just gloss. Jeff bates has battled his own demons in the past, and he is not afraid to put himself on the line with autobiographical and personal songs. Mama Was A Lot Like Jesus being a case in point.
There is more depth to Leave The Light On than is found in much contemporary pop country, and there is lot to admire for more traditionalist country fans.
