Laura Veirs
A student of folk, country, classical and pop music, Laura Veirs originally latched on to punk in her youth. Her debut album was a solo acoustic effort recroded live, in 1999, but since that time her introspective and atmospheric songwriting has featured on several acclaimed albums with bandmate Tucker Martine on production duties. Laura Veirs sixth album, Saltbreakers was released in 2007, the name reflecting her touring band Saltbreakers featuring Karl Blau on bass and guitar, keyboardist Steve Moore, and Tucker Martine on drums.
