George Jones and Merle Haggard - Kickin' Out The Footlights ... Again

Kickin' Out The Footlights ... again is the combination of country music icons George Jones and Merle Haggard, each singing each other's songs. Nearly twenty five years since they recorded an album together, Kickin' Out The Footlights contains 14 tracks, a mixture of individual performances and duets.

Steel guitar maestro Norm Hamlet and Pigg Robbins on piano, along with Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson) on production duties help make Kickin Out The Footlights work. George Jones' version of The Way I Am is particularly strong and Merle Haggard shines on I Always Get Lucky With You.

The handful of duets include a very poignant version of Haggard's Footlights and there is a special guest appearance by Rhonda Vincent on harmonies on Merle Haggard's Born To The Blues.
